Scripts Alive is an online platform that hosts and coordinates moved readings of new and unperformed plays. We provide this service to writers as a script development tool.
This is an opportunity for writers to test and fine tune their work before it goes up on a stage. The purpose is not to create entertainment for an audience, but to workshop these plays in a creatively open environment.
Moved readings are hosted on Zoom and recorded. The recording is given to the writer and to the cast – at the writer’s consent.
What is a moved reading?
A moved reading is where actors perform script in hand. Learning lines is not required.
What do we do?
Scripts Alive will select an unperformed play to coordinate a reading. We will make casting callouts, coordinate rehearsal, and record the final reading.
Casting callouts will be made on social media and casting platforms. Actors also have the opportunity to register onto our actors database to receive emails every time we are casting for a reading.
What is our aim?
Create. Collaborate. Connect. Go beyond the usual.
